The title may be Shakespearean, but the monarch I depict is far older than Henry Bolingbroke. Here we see Queen Boudicca, on the eve of battle with the Romans. Will victory be within her grasp, or will she gamble all and lose? History knows the answer, but to me she was a heroine standing up for the honour of her family against the barbarous trickery of the Roman invaders.
